| Me In 1973 I joined as a volunteer with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in Britain. They sent me to Tanzania, East Africa, to work in the Bugando Hospital, Mwanza. My profession is radiography (the technology of making diagnostic images with X-Rays, Ultra Sound, Magnetic Resonance, etc). Whilst on that assignment, my interest was sparked in the wide topic of "alternative technology," or "intermediate technology" as it is some times referred to. The implication is that "high-tec" methods designed for affluent countries often do not fit the more humble requirements of people who cannot afford them. Instead there is a need to think smart, using local facilities and resources, in particular the local workforce, and design more appropriate methods which are affordable. I have "dabbled" and delved ever since. Now, in retirement age, I have an urge to get more involved with enquiring, exciting, intelligent and resourceful people who might share my dream to "invent something useful." |

The Story Behind My Site The purpose of this site is to facilitate positive-thinking ideas; ideas that can, or might, help our Plant Earth overcome the excesses of our species. They might then: Throw the idea out the window; Reconsider the idea and delve further; Grasp the idea as just what they themselves had been thinking of; Or change things, redesign, get others involved, and perhaps even run with the totally metamorphosed concept. So here they are, in this Site. Say what you will. May the wisdom of the Universe prevail. Others Ideas Email Me! Links to Other Sites |
